Ordering & Pricing

What is the minimum order quantity? +
Our standard minimum order is 5 units per product type. This allows us to maintain quality control across a consistent batch. If you need a single sample unit before committing to a full order, we offer a sample service — contact us for pricing as it varies by product.
How is pricing structured? +
Pricing is per unit and decreases with larger quantities (volume pricing). The base price shown on each product page is for the minimum order quantity. For orders above 50 units, we offer bespoke volume pricing. All prices are ex-BTW (excluding 21% Dutch VAT for NL customers). For EU business customers with a valid VAT number, the reverse-charge mechanism may apply.
Do you offer samples before I commit to a full order? +
Yes. We strongly recommend ordering samples before a large order, especially when selecting between leather grades, colours, or embossing options. Sample orders are available as single units at a slightly elevated per-unit price. The sample cost is typically deducted from your subsequent bulk order.
What payment methods do you accept? +
We accept bank transfer (IBAN), iDEAL, and major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard). For first-time orders, we require a 50% deposit before production begins. Repeat customers with established credit terms can arrange net-30 invoicing.

Production & Materials

Where are your products made? +
All our leather covers are handcrafted in our partner workshop in Southern Europe. We work exclusively with craftspeople who have generational expertise in leather goods manufacturing. This is not mass-production — every piece is individually cut, stitched, and inspected by hand.
What types of leather do you use? +
We offer full-grain bovine leather (the highest quality, most durable), top-grain leather (slightly corrected surface, more uniform appearance), nappa leather (extremely soft, buttery feel), and vegetable-tanned leather (natural, eco-friendly tanning without harsh chemicals). Each material is described in detail in our Material Guide.
Are your materials sustainable and ethically sourced? +
We are committed to responsible sourcing. Our hides are a by-product of the European food industry — no animal is raised solely for leather. Our vegetable-tanning process uses natural tannins from plant bark rather than heavy-metal chromium salts. We are working toward full supply-chain traceability certification by 2026.

Customisation

Can I add my restaurant logo to the cover? +
Absolutely — this is one of our most popular options. We offer hot-foil embossing (gold, silver, or blind) and laser engraving for wooden products. For best results, supply your logo as a vector file (.AI, .EPS, or high-resolution .SVG). Our design team can trace a raster logo if needed (small fee applies).
What sizes are available? +
Standard sizes include A4, A5, and custom landscape/portrait formats. We can produce covers for any insert size — from small A6 bill presenters to large A3 hotel portfolios. Simply provide your desired dimensions when requesting a quote. Custom dies for unusual sizes may carry a one-time tooling fee.
Can I get a custom colour that is not in your standard range? +
Yes, for orders of 20+ units we can source or dye leather to a specific Pantone colour. This requires an additional 2–3 weeks of lead time and a small colour-matching surcharge. Please specify your Pantone reference code when requesting your quote.

Delivery & Returns

How long does production and delivery take? +
Standard production time is 10–15 business days after approval of the final artwork proof. Delivery to the Benelux region takes an additional 1–3 business days. Express production (7 business days) is available for a 25% surcharge. We send a tracking number once your order leaves our workshop.
Do you ship internationally? +
Yes. While our primary market is the Benelux, we ship throughout the EU and Switzerland. International shipping rates are calculated at checkout. For Swiss orders through menuko.ch, we handle customs documentation and ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) for orders over 20 units.
What if I am not satisfied with my order? +
Customer satisfaction is our highest priority. If your order does not match the approved artwork proof or has a manufacturing defect, we will remake the affected units at no cost. As our products are custom-manufactured to your specification, we cannot accept returns for change-of-mind. We always recommend ordering a sample first for this reason.

Care & Maintenance

How do I clean leather menu covers? +
For routine cleaning, wipe the surface with a slightly damp (not wet) cloth and allow to air dry away from direct heat. For stubborn stains, use a specialist leather cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol-based sanitisers, and abrasive cloths. We recommend applying a leather conditioner every 3–6 months in high-use environments.
How long will my leather covers last? +
With proper care, full-grain and top-grain leather covers are built to last 5–10+ years in a professional restaurant environment. High-use items like à-la-carte menus may show natural patina and character over time — many of our clients consider this a feature, not a flaw. We offer a replacement insert service so you never need to replace the cover itself.
